Dr. Kevin Murphy began his career in family medicine upon completion of residency at University Medical Center in Lafayette, Louisiana. Dr. Murphy served as chief resident in 1990. Upon completion of his residency training, Dr. Murphy received the Gerald Gehringer, M.D. award in 1991. This award is given to one Family Medicine Resident within the state annually.

Dr. Murphy has practiced in the Shreveport-Bossier area his entire career. He is a board certified family physician and has been awarded the degree of Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Dr. Murphy was born in Tachikawa AFB, Japan. He is married to Dr. Theresa Rinderle and he has three sons. Dr. Murphy enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, and golfing. He is an LSU Football fan, New Orleans Saints fan and a huge Boston Red Sox Fan!
