CHRISTUS Health System Names New Chief Operating Officer June 02, 2016

New Leadership Roles and Promotions Also Announced as CHRISTUS Wraps up Fiscal Year 

Irving, TX (June 2, 2016) – CHRISTUS Health is proud to announce that Jeff Puckett has been named the new Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for the CHRISTUS Health System.  Puckett, who has served as Executive Vice President of Strategic Alliance and Group Operations for CHRISTUS, will assume his new role immediately.  Puckett has served the international Catholic health system for more than 25 years.

“He is an experienced leader with an intimate knowledge of what we are working to achieve,” explained Ernie Sadau, CHRISTUS Health president and CEO.  “I am confident that Jeff will have wonderful oversight to ensure we continue to proactively make a difference in the lives of our patients and to grow our health care ministry both in the United States and internationally.”

Puckett received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Bowling Green State University and his MBA from the University of Delaware.  He has also completed executive education courses at The Harvard Law School Program on Negotiations and The Harvard Business School. 

With Puckett’s promotion, other key leadership roles at CHRISTUS Health are changing including the promotion of two experienced health care leaders, Paul Generale and Marty Margetts, to the role of Executive Vice President.

Paul Generale, Executive Vice President, Ambulatory, Population Health Services & Strategic Alliances 
Generale will head up areas dedicated to Population Health, the system’s physician group, non-acute care, and Ambulatory services.  In addition, he’ll begin leading business development and strategy. Generale has been with CHRISTUS since 2002.  

Marty Margetts, Executive Vice President, Corporate Services & Chief Human Resources Officer
Margetts will head up departments including HR Operations and Benefits, Talent Management, Service Excellence, as well as Organizational Transformation, a department devoted to change management and performance effectiveness and improvement.  Margetts has been with CHRISTUS since 2012.

-Three other key leaders within CHRISTUS Health also received promotions from the role of Vice President to the role of Senior Vice President.

Ruth Krystopolski, Senior Vice President, Population Health
Krystopolski will lead the coordination of population health initiatives throughout CHRISTUS, including, but not limited to, the CHRISTUS Health Plan and alternative payment arrangements (such as bundled payments and potential accountable care organizations) and the implementation of new care delivery models.

Nancy LeGros, Senior Vice President & Chief Legal Counsel
As CHRISTUS’ Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Counsel, LeGros will be responsible for leading CHRISTUS Health’s legal agenda and strategy, ensuring the ministry continues to operate consistently with legal, regulatory and ethical obligations.

Peter Plantes M.D. Senior Vice President, Physician Enterprises
Plantes will serve over the CHRISTUS Physician Group, a physician employment and practice management organization, which employs more than 200 physicians, specialists and other licensed health care providers.  He’ll continue his work on physician integration and hospital provider contracts and head up the CHRISTUS Integrated Network.
