Dr. Mark Gilger is the first full-time Pediatrician-in-Chief for The Children's Hospital of San Antonio. He also serves as vice chair of the Department of Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Gilger is board certified in both pediatrics and pediatric gastroenterology. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and is a member of the North American Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition; the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy; and the American Gastroenterology Association.
Dr. Gilger received his medical degree from Creighton University School of Medicine and completed his residency in pediatrics at University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. He completed his fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology and nutrition at Baylor College of Medicine in 1989.
