Although she now calls San Antonio home, Dr. Kaushik has lived and worked in several places and credits her current position to her many diverse experiences. She was raised in southern California where she spent much of her youth working for her father who is a pediatrician as well. After receiving her medical degree from Dayanand Medical College and Hospital in Ludhiana, India, she completed her training in pediatrics and one year of neonatology at the Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo. She then spent six years in Omaha, Nebraska, as a private pediatrician and hospitalist for Boys Town Pediatrics, where she further cultivated her interest in caring for children with special needs and was able to utilize her Spanish language skills. While also completing a master’s degree in public health, she joined the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, for two years, primarily caring for children with medical complexity.
Dr. Kaushik is currently the Medical Director of the Comprehensive Peds for Complex Needs clinic. Additionally, she enjoys collaborating with community organizations (including home health providers and school districts) to promote the optimal growth and development of all children and advocating for children’s issues. She enjoys running with her husband and three children, sewing, baking, and completing crossword puzzles.
