"Youth Sports: Playing it Safe” Free Seminar Set for August 16

Longview, TX – CHRISTUS Good Shepherd Health System will present a free community seminar, “Youth Sports: Playing it Safe,” from 6:30-8 p.m. on Thursday, August 16, 2018, at CHRISTUS Good Shepherd Institute for Healthy Living (3133 Good Shepherd Way). Participating in sports can help children and adolescents keep their bodies fit and feel good about themselves. However, more is not always better!
Seminar topics covered include:
- Importance of avoiding single-sport specialization
- Sleep and hydration
- Overuse and ACL injury prevention
Players will also have the opportunity to have a risk assessment performed by experts.
