Longview, TX – CHRISTUS Good Shepherd Health System will open its new $8.5 million CHRISTUS Good Shepherd Heart and Vascular Institute with a blessing and ribbon cutting Oct. 14. This state-of-the-art, 21,500-square-foot facility offering premier cardiovascular care is located on the CHRISTUS Good Shepherd Medical Center – Longview campus.
“There is absolutely nothing else like this in Longview,” said Todd Hancock, President and Chief Executive Officer, CHRISTUS Good Shepherd Health System. “We are creating the first of its kind in our community – a comprehensive facility, dedicated to cardiac care. This facility will provide patients with access to the heart and vascular specialists they need, as well as services and expertise they can’t get anywhere else.”
The CHRISTUS Good Shepherd Heart and Vascular Institute features clinical offices and comprehensive cardiac health services, providing capacity for 12 existing specialists and their teams, with opportunity for future expansion. The Institute also provides expanded comprehensive cardiac care, including diagnosis, treatment, prevention, rehabilitation and education.
“This facility is a wonderful resource for East Texans because it affords our patients comprehensive cardiovascular services in a single, readily accessible location,” said Chris McClish, M.D., Chief of Cardiology, CHRISTUS Good Health System. “It combines cardiology, electrophysiology, cardiovascular surgery and cardiac rehabilitation into a single, medically-integrated clinic. That means we have the high-quality heart care our patients need, offered in a familiar, trusted environment with minimized travel.”
The new facility, conveniently located at CHRISTUS Good Shepherd - Longview campus, adjacent to the Medical Plazas with designated VIP Parking, also provides expedited, often same-day, diagnosis and treatment planning.
