Longview, Texas – Doctors at CHRISTUS Good Shepherd Medical Center - Longview are using an advanced digital X-ray imaging system to see extremely detailed, real-time images of patient anatomy during procedures that require exacting precision.
The Innova* IGS 5 system from GE Healthcare will help physicians at CHRISTUS Good Shepherd Medical Center - Longview treat a variety of medical disorders including diseases including cardiovascular diseases, cancers, and other conditions.
The IGS 5 provides advanced capability for visualizing delicate procedures, such as placing a tiny wire mesh stent in a patient’s artery to sustain or recover blood flow, deliver therapeutic material to tumors during oncology procedures, or guide needle procedures such as biopsies.

The IGS 5 has a state-of-the-art digital detector that provides exceptional image quality at one of the industry’s lowest radiation dose levels. The system gives doctors the flexibility to balance dose and image quality, helping them minimize the radiation dose to patients as low as reasonably achievable.
The IGS 5 has the option for a large digital detector – nearly 16 inches square. This large detector gives doctors the potential to see more anatomy in a single exam and consequently, complete studies with fewer X-ray images, less X-ray dose and fewer injections of contrast dye than with smaller detectors.
