CHRISTUS Health launches mobile medical app September 12, 2012

CHRISTUS Health today announced the launch of a mobile application (app) to help patients and families access trustworthy health information at any time.

The CHRISTUS Mobile iPhone and Android application can be downloaded for free through the iTunes Store or the Google Play store and provides users with instant, 24/7 access to thousands of medically relevant, easy-to-read health topics, conditions, diseases, symptoms and more. It also helps connect users in need of medical care to their local CHRISTUS health care facilities.

“This mobile app is part of our commitment to delivering excellent service to those in need of our care at all times,” said Ernie Sadau, CHRISTUS Health president and CEO. “By providing dependable health information on-the-go, we can continue to further our mission through all those touched by our ministry – whether in-person or on a mobile device.”

CHRISTUS’ new app empowers patients to make informed decisions about their health any time of the day or night. Features include:

  • First Aid - If you are concerned about a sting, bite or small cut, find out how serious it may be and learn how to react.
  • Find a Doctor - Have instant access to a large network of CHRISTUS physicians.
  • Find a Location - Search by zip code to find the closest CHRISTUS facilities, including hospitals and ERs, clinics and homecare facilities. Receive access to phone numbers, addresses and links to Google Maps for directions.
  • Symptom Navigator - Simply tap the area of concern on the body diagram and search a large health encyclopedia based on your symptom.

The app follows the recent debut of CHRISTUS’ mobile websites which provide patients with additional tools they need to manage their health, when and where they need them. More information can be found at
