CHRISTUS Physician Group (CPG) is pleased to announce the addition of Robert Bowling, D.O., as a primary care physician at CHRISTUS Family Medicine – Alamo Ranch. Board-certified in Family Practice, Dr. Bowling brings 30 years of experience to the city of San Antonio.
"With a strong background in family medicine and osteopathic care, Dr. Bowling will be an instrumental addition to the CHRISTUS Physician Group team," shared David Mullican, M.D. and CPG Regional Physician Leader.
Dr. Bowling received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. He continued on to Fort Worth, where he graduated Valedictorian at Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1985. Dr. Bowling performed his internship in Family Medicine at Doctors Hospital in Groves, Texas, and remained in Southeast Texas to practice family medicine as a 3rd generation family physician.
Since 1986, Dr. Bowling has been an active family medicine physician in Port Neches, Texas, a member of the Board of Trustees at Medical Center of Southeast Texas from 2009 – 2015, and also a member of the Board of Trustees at Permian Premier Health Services from 2010-2014. He has served as a Medical Director at Senior Care Cypress Glen East Nursing Home, Heart to Heart Hospice, and Bethany Home Health.
An avid outdoorsman, Dr. Bowling enjoys hunting, biking, weight lifting, and woodworking. Originally from Port Arthur, Texas, he and his wife, Lisa, are excited to serve the community of San Antonio. They have three grown children, three grandchildren, and are active members of their local church.
