San Antonio Business Journal’s New 40 Under 40 Class Features Two CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Physicians January 28, 2019

(San Antonio, TX) – CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health System is proud to announce two of its top physicians will be inducted into this year’s 40 Under 40 class.

San Antonio Business Journal recently announced the elite 2019 group includes Dr. Ian Thompson, a Urologic Oncologist who practices at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital-Medical Center, and Dr. Taylor Fordham, an Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon who practices at The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio.

The 40 Under 40 awards recognize a range of young professionals making a difference in the surrounding San Antonio community, from presidents and CEOs, to physicians and high-level executives.

Dr. Ian Thompson III has called San Antonio home for most of his life where he was born and raised. A graduate of Keystone school, he completed his undergraduate studies at Texas A&M University and then returned to San Antonio for medical school at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA.) He completed his general surgery and urologic surgery training at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN and then returned to San Antonio to complete a fellowship in urologic oncology at UTHSCSA. He then took a faculty position at UTHSCSA as Assistant Professor in Urologic Oncology. After serving on faculty for over 2 years, Dr. Thompson opened his private practice with Texas Urology Group.

Dr. Taylor Fordham was born in Griffin, Georgia. He attended Wake Forest University for his undergraduate studies where he was a Phi Beta Kappa scholar. He remained at Wake Forest University for medical school and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society as one of the top graduates in his class. After deciding to pursue a career in a surgical subspecialty, otolaryngology, he moved to Charleston, South Carolina where he completed his residency at the Medical University of South Carolina, one of the premier otolaryngology training programs in the country. He then completed a pediatric otolaryngology fellowship at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C before coming to San Antonio to serve at The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio.

The San Antonio Business Journal’s 40 under 40 class will be honored at a special ceremony from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Feb. 21, 2019 at Morgan’s Wonderland Event Center, located at 5223 David Edwards Drive.
