New Braunfels, Texas – CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital – New Braunfels is excited to announce Alex Reynolds as the new President of the hospital, starting January 19, 2021. Prior to that, Reynolds served in multiple leadership roles at Surgical Care Affiliates, which is part of OptumCare and United Health Group. In his most senior role as Regional Vice President of Operations, he was responsible for the operations, earnings growth and clinical quality for multiple ASCs that included approximately 250 teammates and 100 physician partners. Reynolds also held the titles of Regional Director of Operations, along with Director of Market Development for Texas Health Resources Joint Venture for the same company. Reynolds began his career in South Texas as an Administrative Intern and Management Fellow for Methodist/HCA where he worked on multiple inpatient service initiatives to include structuring hospital joint ventures and service line development projects.
Reynolds earned his Dual Masters in Business and Healthcare Management (MBA/MSHA) at The University of Alabama at Birmingham. He earned his Bachelor of Arts at Southern Illinois University.
“I am honored to take on this role and grateful that the CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health System is entrusting me to lead this exceptional team,” Reynolds said. “Thanks to Jim Wesson and the hospital’s dedicated Associates, there is already a strong foundation at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital – New Braunfels and we will continue to build on that.”
To ensure a smooth transition, Wesson will continue to work at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital – New Braunfels through the end of February.
“After being involved in the search for my successor, I am confident that Alex will continue the culture of patient-focused compassionate care at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital – New Braunfels,” Wesson said. “It has been my pleasure to serve our Associates and the New Braunfels community.”
