New Braunfels, TX – CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital – New Braunfels enthusiastically welcomes Nikki Rivers, RN, BSN, MBA as its new Chief Nursing Officer. Rivers comes to CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital – New Braunfels from Fredericksburg, Texas, bringing more than 30 years of extensive nursing, healthcare and leadership experience.

Prior to this position, Rivers served as Chief Clinical Officer at Hill Country Memorial Hospital, an 85-bed facility with services including emergency, surgery, outpatient procedures, ICU, medical surgical care and maternity. Rivers was in charge of oversight of all hospital clinical areas and ensured compliance with all regulatory agencies. During her tenure as Regional Chief Nursing Officer, she worked with executive leadership in the development of long- and short-term operating plans, goals and objectives. In addition to providing overall accountability for nursing, Rivers worked with the clinical team to move the emergency department and inpatient care to a Level II Trauma facility within a two-year time period. Rivers also held the same position at an earlier time, assisting with the construction and completion of a new hospital – Seton Medical Center Hays. She was also responsible for creating all nursing operating budgets, oversight of all staffing positions, and the hiring of all nursing leadership roles prior to the facility opening.

“I am grateful to CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital – New Braunfels for entrusting me with this leadership opportunity,” Rivers said of her new role. “The hospital has built an exceptional nursing team that has provided great care to the New Braunfels community, especially during the pandemic. It is my sincere goal to support these Associates and enhance the already great work that is done within these walls every day.”

Alex Reynolds, President of CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital – New Braunfels, said of the new leader, “Nikki brings a great mix of experience and familiarity with the region that makes her an ideal Chief Nursing Officer.
