CHRISTUS Santa Rosa–New Braunfels Celebrates 1-Year Anniversary of Area’s Only Electrophysiology Program November 19, 2018

EP Lab Anniversary

(New Braunfels, TX) – One year ago, CHRISTUS Santa Rosa-New Braunfels welcomed Dr. Kishore Subnani, a cardiac electrophysiologist, to its cardiac team and established the city’s first and only Electrophysiology Lab.

Those additions to the hospital’s Cardiac Program means New Braunfels patients with arrhythmias (abnormal heartbeats) can receive high-quality heart care close to home, without having to leave for San Antonio or Austin.

This month, the nurses and doctors at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa-New Braunfels marked the milestone with a 1-year anniversary celebration featuring cake and punch, and offering an inside look for the community at the growing electrophysiology program.

“Over the last year, we have performed over 175 electrophysiology procedures. I have worked with the team at the Cardiovascular Center to grow electrophysiology (EP) services and feel their experience in cardiac care brings much value,” said Dr. Subnani. “EP procedures allow patients to get relief from bothersome abnormal heart rhythms. Having the ability to offer these services is great for our patients and the community.”

The Cardiovascular Center at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital-New Braunfels provides high-quality service, top-tier technology, and compassionate care for a patient-friendly experience delivered around the clock.

The dedicated Center is chest-pain accredited by the American College of Cardiology Accreditation Services and is fully equipped to provide the highest quality of cardiovascular care to our patients.

State-of-the-art Electrophysiology imaging technology gives electrophysiologists the information they need to navigate the delicate pathways of the heart. The Electrophysiology (EP) Lab at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa New Braunfels uses the CARTO® 3 System when performing ablation procedures to treat abnormal heart rhythms (arrhythmias).

“Our facility and our staff are dedicated to ensuring our patients receive the best care possible in treatment of cardiac diseases. We are excited about celebrating one year of electrophysiology services with our team and community,” said Michele Valerio, Cardiac and EP Lab Director at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital-New Braunfels.

“Treatment of heart rhythm disorders (abnormally slow, fast or irregular heart rate) adds to our comprehensive cardiac program. Our goal is to provide high quality, experienced cardiac care close to home. The addition of electrophysiology services to our hospital allows our experienced to team to do this. We are excited about our electrophysiology program as well as all of our cardiac services,” she said.
