Awards and Accreditation
Certified Chest Pain Center with PCI accreditation from the American College of Cardiology Accreditation Services
CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital – New Braunfels (CSRH - NB) is proud to be accredited as a Certified Chest Pain Center.
To receive this elevated accreditation, we engaged in rigorous evaluation by the American College of Cardiology Accreditation Service for its ability to assess, diagnose, and treat patients who may be experiencing a heart attack.
For New Braunfels and the surrounding area, this means that processes are in place that meet strict criteria aimed at:
Reducing the time from onset of symptoms to diagnosis and treatment
- Treating patients more quickly during the critical window of time when the integrity of the heart muscle can be preserved
- Monitoring patients when it is not certain that they are having a heart attack to ensure that they are not sent home too quickly or needlessly admitted to the hospital
Received the Mission: Lifeline® Silver Plus quality achievement award for implementing specific quality improvement measures outlined by the American Heart Association for the treatment of patients who suffer severe heart attacks.
The Comprehensive Cardiac Rehabilitation Program has received national certification by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR). The program certification achieved by the Cardiac Rehabilitation team is the highest level of accreditation a Cardiac Rehabilitation program can be awarded. This recognition of excellence highlights the dedication and willingness of the care team, ensuring that patients receive the highest level of cardiac rehabilitation care possible.
Cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitation programs are designed to help people quickly recover from cardiovascular problems--for example, heart attacks and coronary artery bypass graft surgery--and pulmonary problems such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and respiratory symptoms. Both programs include exercise, education, counseling and support for patients and their families
