An upcoming joint replacement surgery can feel overwhelming to a patient in pain, as well as to the family members or friends who will be involved in his or her recovery. Knowing what to expect helps patients and their caregivers better prepare for the surgery and rehabilitation process, and provides peace of mind as they take this big step toward improved mobility.
CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital – New Braunfels offers a free, in-depth educational class, “Preparing for Total Joint Surgery (PREP),” that educates joint replacement patients about their upcoming surgery, hospital stay, and the physical therapy that will play a vital role in their rehabilitation. Additional information will also be provided to ensure a safe recovery and long-term success after surgery.
We encourage all joint replacement patients to attend the PREP class before their surgeries, and to bring along a family member or friend who will assist in their recovery.
Free classes are held every two weeks. Contact us for dates and to reserve space in an upcoming class.
