What is a Hospitalist?
A hospitalist is a physician specially trained to care for patients while they are hospitalized. They work hand in hand with the admitting physician. Hospitalist are focused on patients with numerous complex medical problems that require acute inpatient care. Because they concentrate on just the hospital, they are able to devote all their efforts to the care of these hospitalized patients.
What can I expect from the hospitalists?
Our hospitalists ensure continuous round-the-clock care for patients. They may consult other specialists to ensure that patients receive the most appropriate care. Hospitalist follow up on test results, examine the patient’s response to treatment and adjust the treatment as needed.
