(Beaumont, TX, August 25, 2020) – We continue to closely monitor the progress of now Hurricane Laura as it intensifies across the Gulf of Mexico. As expected, Laura continues to strengthen and remains on track to make landfall to Southeast Texas or Southwest Louisiana late Wednesday/early/Thursday morning as a major hurricane.
CHRISTUS Southeast Texas Health System continues to take all necessary precautions, in advance of the storm, to protect our patients, our Associates and physicians and secure our facilities.
The flood gates on the campus St. Elizabeth are now closed, meaning all EMS and pedestrian access to the ER will be through the Main entrance on Calder. Our campuses remain closed to ALL VISITORS.
We have suspended all elective or non-emergent surgeries through Thursday.
