Your Health Remains our #1 Priority

As we continue to receive updates from the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) regarding the spread of the COVID-19 Delta variant, we want you and your family to feel assured that our physicians, nurses, and staff will continue to do everything possible to keep you healthy, safe and informed.

The vaccine is still our greatest defense in the fight against COVID-19. The COVID-19 Vaccine booster shot serves the purpose of not only strengthening that protection but also safeguarding you against new variants of the virus. Getting vaccinated not only protects you and your family it is also protects others around you.

COVID-19 and Delta Variant Safety

We are closely monitoring the progression of COVID-19 and Delta variant cases within our communities. In accordance with CDC guidelines, we will continue to require masks for those visiting, working or receiving care in any of our CHRISTUS facilities, as well as highly recommending hand hygiene and social distancing when possible.

The safety of our patients, Associates and physicians is very important to us, which is why we successfully practice infection prevention every day. To keep all who enter our facilities safe during this time we have added the following precautions:

  • Limiting visitors
  • Screening everyone who comes through our doors
  • Requiring everyone on our campuses and clinics to wear masks, and social distance.

FDA Approved Vaccine

On August 23, 2021, The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) officially approved the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine. The Moderna and Johnson & Johnson Janssen vaccines are still approved through emergency use authorization. The emergency use authorization is still in effect for the Pfizer vaccine to be used for children age 12-15.

Scheduling Your Vaccine Appointment

We believe the vaccine is our strongest asset in the fight against COVID-19 and the Delta variant, which is why we encourage you to get vaccinated as soon as possible. If you have not scheduled your vaccination appointment, you can do so by following these simple steps:

Step 1: To see if you are eligible to receive the vaccine, click the yellow chat icon to your right to connect you with Christy, our virtual assistant.
Step 2: Christy, our virtual assistant, will ask you a few screening questions to ensure you are eligible for the vaccine.
Step 3: If you qualify for the vaccine, Christy will help you find an appointment at the nearest available CHRISTUS clinic or urgent care. If registration is full, check back daily as slots become available.
Step 4: Complete your registration by filling out all patient information online and confirming your appointment date, time and clinic location.

If you have questions about your personal health concerns or history and how that might be impacted by vaccination, we encourage you to talk with your primary care provider, who knows your conditions and your history and can advise you personally. If you do not have a primary care provider, you can find one here.

If you’ve registered for a COVID-19 vaccine online, dose #1 and dose #2 have been reserved for you at the time of your scheduled appointment. You will have the opportunity to schedule you second dose of the vaccine at the time of your appointment.

Visitor Guidelines

While CHRISTUS Southeast Texas Health System continues to work to provide care and treatment for all of our patients, we are also working hard each day to reduce the risk of potential exposure to COVID-19. Please review our visitor guidelines.

Wear a Mask

Universal Masking Still in Place at all CHRISTUS Facilities

We will continue to require all those in our hospitals, clinics, ambulatory surgery centers and other locations where care is provided to remain masked. As these locations remain open to the public, and as we will continue treating all those who need us, including those with COVID-19 and those without, it’s important that we ask our Associates, physicians, volunteers, patients and visitors to remain masked while in our facilities.
