CHRISTUS Ochsner Health Southwestern Louisiana Caring for the Community Following Hurricane Delta October 13, 2020

Lake Charles, La. – As Southwestern Louisiana continues the rebuilding process after Hurricane Laura and Hurricane Delta, CHRISTUS Ochsner Health Southwestern Louisiana continues to reopen services and facilities to provide access to health care services across the region.

Detailed continues at both facilities, and remediation crews are continuing their work. At this time, CHRISTUS Ochsner St. Patrick Hospital and CHRISTUS Ochsner Lake Area Hospital are serving the community using a secondary water supply system to ensure the safety of our patients, until the boil advisory is lifted.

The following services have resumed at CHRISTUS Ochsner St. Patrick Hospital:

  • ER
  • All inpatient units (except Unit 54)
  • ICU/CCU
  • Surgery
  • Elective Procedures (October 14)
  • Radiation Oncology
  • Outpatient Rehabilitation
  • Dialysis
  • All support services including lab, pharmacy, etc.

The following services have resumed at CHRISTUS Ochsner Lake Area Hospital:

  • Labor and Delivery
  • NICU
  • Surgery
  • Elective Procedures (October 14)
  • All support services to L&D & NICU including Lab, Pharmacy, Etc.
  • Infusion Center
  • MRI
  • Mammography
  • Wound Care

All Ochsner CHRISTUS Health Centers are open.

Updates on resuming further services safely will be communicated as decisions are made following the storm. CHRISTUS Ochsner Health Southwestern Louisiana facilities will allow only essential visitors.

As the evacuation order was lifted at noon today, both hospitals will switch back to the one visitor per patient policy being utilized prior to Hurricane Delta. Both facilities are utilizing a single entrance – the front entrance closest to the gift shop at CHRISTUS Ochsner St. Patrick and the rear Day Surgery entrance at CHRISTUS Ochsner Lake Area.
