CHRISTUS Ochsner Health Southwestern Louisiana Facilities Open, Serving the Community October 10, 2020

Lake Charles, Louisiana – Although both CHRISTUS Ochsner Health Southwestern Louisiana hospital facilities experienced minor leaks, thanks to the heroic efforts of our Associates, providers and physicians, CHRISTUS Ochsner St. Patrick Hospital and CHRISTUS Ochsner Lake Area Hospital remain open, serving the Lake Charles community.

Currently, all outpatient facilities remain closed, all elective procedures are being rescheduled and only emergent surgeries will take place. The Ochsner CHRISTUS Health Clinics remain closed for the rest of the week.

We understand the difficulties involved in restoring utility services across the area. As a result, CHRISTUS Ochsner St. Patrick Hospital and CHRISTUS Ochsner Lake Area Hospital are serving the community using backup power and its secondary water supply system as they work to repair damages to the facility and treat the numerous patients there who need hospital care.

The Emergency Department at CHRISTUS Ochsner St. Patrick Hospital remains open. Both hospitals are utilizing a single entrance – the ER at CHRISTUS Ochsner St. Patrick and the rear Day Surgery entrance at CHRISTUS Ochsner Lake Area.

Updates on resuming those services safely will be communicated as decisions are made following the storm. CHRISTUS Ochsner Health Southwestern Louisiana facilities will allow only essential visitors.

We will distribute further messages as updated information becomes available. The CHRISTUS Facebook page will also be updated frequently at https://www.facebook.com/christusSWLA.
