Level IV Maternal Designated Facility
CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi – South has earned a pair of designations from the Texas Department of State Health Services that affirm the facility’s quality care for high-risk mothers and pregnancies. The hospital has earned the Level IV Maternal Level of Care Designation and Level III Neonatal Level of Care Designation. CHRISTUS Spohn – South was previously designated as a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The Maternal designation makes the hospital one of only 19 Level IV programs in the state of Texas, and the first and only one south of San Antonio.
Recognized Cardiac Rehabilitation Program
CHRISTUS Spohn Cardiac Rehabilitation Program is recognized by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR); AACVPR certification is given to facilities that are committed to improving the quality of life by enhancing standards of care. The CHRISTUS Spohn Cardiac Rehab program offers ECG (electrocardiograph) monitored exercise, education, counseling, and support for patients and their families to help people who experience a cardiac event or heart disease to recover faster, return to more full and productive lives and reduce the risk and severity of future heart disease.

CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi - Shoreline received the 2016 Mission: Lifeline® Receiving Center BRONZE PLUS Recognition Award.
CHRISTUS Spohn is part of an elite group of hospitals recognized by the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association for quality care of heart attacks. The American Heart Association recognizes this hospital for achieving 85 percent or higher composite adherence to all Mission: Lifeline STEMI Receiving Center Performance Achievement indicators for consecutive 90 day intervals, 75 percent or higher compliance on all Mission: Lifeline STEMI receiving Center quality measures and First-Door-to-Device time of 120 minutes or less for transfers to improve the quality of care for STEMI patients.
