Christina Perry Joins CHRISTUS Spohn Health System as VP for Cardiovascular Services May 27, 2021

Corpus Christi, TX – CHRISTUS Spohn Health System announces that Christina Cortez Perry, MSN, APRN, FNP – C, CCCC joins the ministry as Vice President for Cardiovascular Services. Perry takes on this role as a lifelong Corpus Christi resident who is dedicated to providing quality health care to this community, especially those who experience cardiac complications.

Perry brings a wealth of experience to her new leadership role. She has over 14 years of operating room experience and two national certifications, in addition to years of community service and education. Most recently, she served as Cardiology Program Coordinator for five years, which allowed her to serve as Chair for the Chest Pain Accreditation. While serving as chair, she successfully attained and maintained two accreditations – including a Cycle VI Chest Pain Accreditation.

Perry earned a Master’s of Science in Nursing, with a major in Family Nurse Practitioner Program and a minor in Leadership Nursing Systems. She is an instructor for the federally developed Stop the Bleed course and educates many local organizations on topics related to cardiology and cardiovascular health.

“It is truly an honor to take on this position with CHRISTUS Spohn and lead our already successful cardiovascular service line,” Perry said. “Improving the heart health of the people of the Coastal Bend is a calling for me and I look forward to working with our teams to fulfill that goal and our mission to extend the healing ministry of Jesus Christ.”

Speaking of Perry’s community service activity, CHRISTUS Spohn Health System President and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Osbert Blow said, “Her service on the Executive Board of the Coastal Bend Regional Advisory Council (CBRAC) and her support of the American Heart Association are two of many attributes Christina brings to our ministry. I am confident that she’ll continue to lead our cardiovascular service line in a successful path.”
