Pediatric Therapy Center provides children and their families with resources to help with the management of their child’s condition and support them in their efforts to provide their child as many opportunities as possible. Pediatric Therapy Center hosts social events and community-based programs to accommodate children with special needs — including a summer day camp program, group socials and parents’ night out.
Supported by the Children’s Miracle Network, CHRISTUS Cabrini Pediatric Therapy Center’s team of occupational, physical and speech therapists use a patient- and family-centered approach to help
children with diagnoses, including:
- autism spectrum disorder
- cerebral palsy
- developmental issues due to premature birth
- Down syndrome
- hearing or visual impairment
- language or communication disorders
- muscular disorders
However, many children who come to Pediatric Therapy Center have no specific diagnosis at the time of referral other than parental concerns for development or functioning. “We encourage those parents who have questions regarding their child’s behavior, physical development, learning abilities or struggles with typical childhood routines and activities to speak with their child’s physician,” says Stacey Caplan, OTR/L, manager of Pediatric Therapy Center. “Parents may also contact Pediatric Therapy Center and speak directly with one of our clinicians about their concerns to determine if an assessment is warranted.”
