CHRISTUS St. Michael to Host “Wild About Wellness” Children’s Health Fair August 01, 2019

Texarkana, Texas – Kids of all ages can walk on the wild side of wellness during the 24th annual Wild About Wellness Children’s Health Fair on Saturday, August 10, from 9 a.m. until 12 noon at the Four States Entertainment Center, Texarkana (AR).

CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System, in conjunction with TownSquare Media, is bringing this FREE event for families in the Four States area. The fun event will include a variety of health screenings, immunizations and access to medical professionals – as well as other fun activities for children and families.

“The health screenings are a great chance for parents and families to receive preventive and wellness care that is always needed,” said Sue Johnson, Director of Advocacy and Community Planning, CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System. “The screenings include vision, weight and height, dental, asthma and more. Families seeking immunizations for their children need to bring their current shot records. It is a wonderful opportunity for families as CHRISTUS St. Michael promotes health, wellness, and safety and sets a tone for maintaining good health for the children who participate, now and in the future.”

But don’t worry – it’s not all medicine! Other activities will include Astro Jump Inflatables, Bicycle Safety Town, games, contests and more.

“There are some really fun activities planned for this year with our partners at TownSquare Media,” explained Johnson. “Texarkana Museums Systems will sponsor a ‘Make and Take’ workshop for kids. The diaper derby is always a blast, and this year’s event will include a bicycle safety workshop. Kids who participate in the bike safety activity will be fitted for a free bicycle helmet while supplies last and will be eligible for a drawing for three bicycles that will be given away at the end of the event.”

The 24th annual Wild About Wellness Children’s Health Fair is presented by CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System and TownSquare Media, as well as Superior Health Plan, Kellie Ashbrook and Derrick McGary State Farm, Smiles of Arkansas, Kicker 102.5, Power 95.9, Eagle 106.3, Magic 93.3 and KOSY.
