CHRISTUS St. Patrick Health System renames heart center after donors of $1.1 million
May 18, 2017
CHRISTUS St. Patrick Health System renamed its regional heart center the John & Sylvia Stelly Regional Heart Center after a $1.1 million donation made by the Stellys to the CHRISTUS St. Patrick Foundation for the improvement of cardiology services in the region.
The donation was made during the “Healthcare and Hope…Here at Home” fundraising campaign, which has been ongoing since 2014. During the campaign, donors have given over $12 million toward the purchase of the latest technology for cardiology, neuroscience and oncology.
This latest gift will help the center work toward becoming the area’s first accredited chest pain center. To do so, technology will be purchased to quickly and accurately detect heart attacks and other cardiovascular events. The gift will also support the development of the region’s first hybrid surgical suite and the Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) program.
