About

CHRISTUS St. Vincent Regional Medical Center, established in 1865 by the Sisters of Charity, was the first organized healthcare facility in the New Mexico territory.

Located in Santa Fe, the 200-bed hospital operates under a 50/50 partnership with CHRISTUS Health and SVHsupport. CHRISTUS St. Vincent is proud to be celebrating its 150th anniversary of providing care and services to residents of Northern New Mexico. CHRISTUS St. Vincent is a comprehensive acute care hospital serving a seven-county area with a population of nearly 300,000.

Each year, more than 13,000 patients are admitted to the hospital, and more than 200,000 outpatient hospital encounters (includes physician practices) occur at CHRISTUS St. Vincent. More babies are born in birthing suites at CHRISTUS St. Vincent than anywhere else in Northern New Mexico, with nearly 1,300 newborns delivered at our hospital each year. Our birthing program provides 11 labor-delivery-recovery postpartum (LDRP) suites.

More than 8,900 surgical procedures are performed each year at CHRISTUS St. Vincent. Experiencing more than 52,000 patient visits every year, CHRISTUS St. Vincent Regional Medical Center has the second busiest emergency department in New Mexico. As one of only three trauma centers in the state, the ED provides highlevel, quality, compassionate care in a wide range of specialties.

Our Sports Medicine program is staffed by professionals specializing in physical, occupational, hand and speech therapy, and integrated medicine for adults and children. The 10,000 square-foot Sports Medicine complex is equipped to enhance our patient’s quality of life through prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries and diseases.

CHRISTUS St. Vincent has partnered with the local public high schools to offer athletic trainers for the school’s sports programs.

Community Partner

In support of the communities it serves, CHRISTUS St. Vincent provides millions of dollars in uncompensated care to patients who cannot afford their care or whose insurance does not cover the cost of their care.

Additionally, over $1 million annually is provided to smaller community non-profits who provide a safety net to the region, including substance abuse, behavioral health, and crisis care.

The St. Vincent Hospital Foundation continues to provide funding for equipment and capital projects as well as funding to support numerous patients’ needs for breast cancer screenings, medical equipment, medicines, and care.

News

CHRISTUS St. Vincent recently announced a $40 million dollar expansion and renovation project that will result in private rooms for all adult patients in the hospital. On the outpatient side, we recently opened Entrada Contenta Health Center on the city’s Southside. This new health center offers pediatric and primary care for all ages, primary care, urgent care, laboratory services as well as x-ray services for urgent care patients.
