CHRISTUS® St. Vincent Regional Medical Center, originally St. Vincent Hospital, has been your regional community hospital since 1865. Here, you and generations of Northern New Mexicans have started life, received expert medical care throughout all your years, and have found a partner for your own health and wellness initiatives.
This month our 150th Anniversary Celebration comes to a close— but there’s so much more to celebrate. We’ll continue to bring you the latest advancements in medicine, and continue to make our community ties even stronger. We believe that our next century and a half together will be even better than our first. For generations to come, as for generations past, CHRISTUS St. Vincent will be your hospital.
As the largest private employer in Santa Fe County, CHRISTUS St. Vincent Regional Medical Center provides stability for the families of our nearly 2,000 employees at our central hospital campus and more than 30 physician and outpatient locations. With more than $165 million in annual payroll and benefits, CHRISTUS St. Vincent continues to provide our employees with steady spending power to support the local economy.
The economic impact of your friends, family members, and neighbors who work here is only one measure of the effect that CHRISTUS St. Vincent has on our local and regional economy. For example, each year the hospital spends more than $91.5 million with vendors in New Mexico ($57 million of that with local vendors).
In addition, we partner with multiple businesses that offer health insurance to more than 20,000 employees and family members to provide health and wellness programs to their employees.
Dozens of our employees have benefited from the CHRISTUS St. Vincent housing program. Working with SVHsupport, the St. Vincent Hospital Foundation and Homewise, Inc., employees have been able to receive down payment assistance to become Santa Fe County homeowners.
CHRISTUS St. Vincent is a non-profit organization, and as such, we see part of our mission as extending a helping hand to other area non-profits. In 2016, we will distribute more than $1 million in grants among 23 such organizations that are helping New Mexicans achieve better physical, mental, and emotional health.
Additionally, CHRISTUS St. Vincent invests more than $150,000 each year to provide free flu shots to our community.
These are just a few of the many ways CHRISTUS St. Vincent profoundly affects our local economy.
This is part of our mission. This is what we do. Just like we are dedicated to the delivery of the highest quality healthcare available, we are committed to our role as a strong economic stimulus to our community. Both of these objectives—physical health and financial health—require the cooperation of all members of our community, and together we can accomplish them.
