CHRISTUS St. Vincent Names New Chair of the Hospital Board of Directors

CHRISTUS St Vincent is pleased to announce that Dr. Mark S. Puczynski has been named Chair of the Board of Directors for CHRISTUS St. Vincent.
Dr. Puczynski, who joined the CHRISTUS St. Vincent Board of Directors in 2019, brings a wealth of healthcare experience to the role. As a board-certified pediatrician for more than 35 years, Dr. Puczynski's past leadership roles have included serving as Chief of Pediatrics for Phoenix Children's Hospital as well as serving as Professor and Chair of Pediatrics at both the University of Toledo School of Medicine and the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine where he also served as Medical Director of the St. John's Children's Hospital. He was also a member of the St. John's Hospital Board of Directors, Springfield, IL.
Dr. Puczynski was a member of the CHRISTUS St. Vincent Community Health and Wellness Committee for over two years before being elected to the Anchorum St. Vincent Board of Directors. He serves on the CHRISTUS St. Vincent and Anchorum Governance Committees and the Anchorum Impact Grant Committee.
Dr. Puczynski has devoted much of his healthcare career to working in collaboration with inner-city leaders on projects to improve access to care for children. One such project focused on providing free wellness checkups for disadvantaged students so that they would be allowed to attend school.

"The hospital's leadership has truly made CHRISTUS St. Vincent a leader in patient safety and quality of care. I am proud of the lifesaving work that happens here and look forward to working with my fellow board members and the hospital leadership."
Dr. Puczynski graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois and earned his medical degree from Loyola University, Stritch School of Medicine, Chicago, IL. He completed his residency training in Pediatrics at Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine, where he served as Chief Resident of Pediatrics. He completed his fellowship training at Harvard University School of Medicine and Boston Children's Hospital. He and his wife, Dr. Sandra Puczynski, live in Santa Fe, where they remain active and engaged in the community.
