CHRISTUS St. Vincent names new Chief Medical Officer

David A. Gonzales, MD, has been named Chief Medical Officer for CHRISTUS St. Vincent. In this role, Dr. Gonzales will oversee the delivery of care to patients at all CHRISTUS St. Vincent facilities.
Dr. Gonzales has served on the Board of Directors for CHRISTUS St. Vincent and Anchorum St. Vincent, and has also held roles on the hospital’s Medical Executive Committee. He currently provides care as a CHRISTUS St. Vincent Hospitalist.

Prior to joining CHRISTUS St. Vincent, Dr. Gonzales served as Vice President of Clinical Affairs for Presbyterian Medical Services (PMS) in Santa Fe, N.M.
Dr. Gonzales earned a Bachelor of Science from Stanford University and a Doctor of Medicine at the University of Illinois before completing his residency in Internal Medicine at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona.
Dr. Gonzales is accredited as a diplomate of the American board of Internal Medicine and the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Dr. Gonzales is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, the American Society of Internal Medicine, the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine, the American Medical Association, the New Mexico Medical Society, and the National Association of Inpatient Physicians.
