Dr. Wang has been with CHRISTUS St. Vincent (CSV) in the role of Medical Director for Clinical Informatics since 2013 and prior to that she held the role of Medical Director for the Hospitalist Program from 2011 to 2013, after serving as a Hospitalist beginning in 2010. During her tenure, she successfully developed and launched MDList for census management and charge capture as well as the launch of the Patient Portal in 20 clinics in 2014, which significantly improved our patient access and satisfied the required metrics. Dr. Wang also led the transition of 130+ medical staff from using paper notes to our Cerner Powernote (electronic daily notes platform) and subsequently all provider notes into the patient portal to improve the patient/physician engagement experience. Dr. Wang and her Informatics team have been at the forefront of rounding on clinics and nursing units to better understand the specific needs and issues of these areas in order to provide exceptional, proactive service.
Prior to joining CSV, Dr. Wang was the lead Hospitalist at Presbyterian Medical Group in Albuquerque where she collaborated to create a clinical decision unit to enhance ED Throughput efficiency. She was the Assistant Clinical Professor of the Hospitalist Program at UNM where she served as the Preceptor of the medical student clinical modules and published a preoperative evaluation reference book for the residents. Dr. Wang completed her Internal Residency with UNM and her Degree in Medicine from University of Minnesota. She received her BA in Chemistry cum laude from Cornell College in 1990 and holds her medical license with the State of New Mexico as well as being certified with the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Wang is a member with the Lovelace Clinic Foundation/NM Health Information Collaborative Advisory Committee, and serves as a member on both the Health Information and Management Systems Society and the American Medical Informatics Association. In addition, she continues serve as a member of our Senior Executive Team and the following Committees of the hospital:
