Tarek Dammad, MD is a graduate of the University of Aleppo Medical School, in historic Aleppo, Syria. He trained internal medicine at Saint Louis University Hospital (SLU); and completed pulmonary and critical care fellowship at the University of Louisville. He is board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine and critical care medicine.

Before joining CHRISTUS St. Vincent in 2011, Dr. Dammad trained in interventional pulmonology at both the University of Pennsylvania and Bellvitge University Hospital in Barcelona, Spain; where he had the opportunity to be mentored by world-renowned interventional pulmonologist, Dr. Jose Pablo Diaz-Jimenez MD, PhD.

Dr. Dammad is the medical director of the Intensive Care Unit at CHRISTUS St. Vincent Hospital. Under his leadership, the ICU became a high quality and patient-centered unit. Dr. Dammad has successfully established the first comprehensive interventional pulmonology program in the state of New Mexico. Recently, he has collaborated with the University of New Mexico as faculty in the department of pulmonary and critical care medicine.

Dr. Dammad lives with his wife and two young children in Santa Fe, NM.
