Randy Safady joined CHRISTUS Health as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in June 2011. He is Board Chair.

In this role, he provides guidance and strategic leadership regarding the finances and financial health of CHRISTUS and its regions to ensure the organization remains strong to meet the health care demands of the future, continuing to extend God’s healing presence to all those served by CHRISTUS facilities and programs.  He leads the following system departments:  internal audit, managed care, revenue cycle and treasury, and will also be responsible for finance and capital, tax, system accounting, decision support, supply chain, reimbursement, forecasting/budgets, reimbursement and regional financial operations across the system.

Randy has over 30 years of experience in finance, accounting and health care operations.  He has served as executive vice president and chief financial officer of Centura Health, Colorado’s largest health system, since 2007.  The system is a joint venture between Catholic Health Initiatives and Adventist Health System, operating 13 hospitals, seven senior living communities and home care and hospice services.  At Centura, Randy was successful in repositioning the financial operations of the health system in a hyper-competitive market.  This turnaround entailed significant work in the areas of managed care contracting, revenue cycle, decision support and team development.  Additionally, he played a significant role in the system’s Meditech conversion and the redesign of financial systems and business processes.  He previously served as senior vice president and chief financial officer of Adventist Midwest Health, a region of the Adventist Health system.

Randy is a Certified Public Accountant, and earned a master’s degree in Management from the University of Central Texas and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University).
