Dr. Anna Voltura, Surgical Oncologist, is the Medical Director of the CHRISTUS St. Vincent Breast Institute.
After leaving her post as the Institute’s Medical Director in November of 2011, Dr. Voltura served two years as Clinical Director of Baptist Health South Florida Breast Center, located in Miami. Dr. Voltura then returned to New Mexico, where she has since worked as Assistant Professor of the University of New Mexico School of Medicine’s Surgical Oncology division.
“I’m thrilled to come back to Santa Fe and the patient community that I love,” said Voltura. “Every time I’ve been away, I’ve deeply missed New Mexico. This is home.”
Dr. Voltura received her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. She completed an internship in General Surgery at Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, New York, and a second internship in General Anesthesia at the UNM School of Medicine. She remained at UNM to complete her residency in General Surgery, serving her final year as Chief Resident. She continued study as a fellow within the Surgical Oncology division of John Hopkins University.
Dr. Voltura is a board certified diplomate of the American Board of Surgery, an American Cancer Society Ambassador, a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons, a member of the Society of Surgical Oncology, and serves on the New Mexico Medical Advisory Board of the Breast and Cervical Cancer Program.
