Dr. Johnson comes to La Familia Medical Center from The University of Washington where she was a Clinical Assistant Professor of Global Health. Previously, she directed a program on HIV prevention and treatment in Mozambique. Dr. Johnson left New Mexico in 1998, returning to her home state of Ohio to work in a community health center serving primarily Hispanic immigrants and inner city residents. She completed her undergraduate and medical education at Ohio State University and received her MPH at Johns Hopkins University. She has worked or volunteered on health projects in Mozambique, Vietnam, Cote d’lvoire, Ethiopia, Haiti, and several countries in South America.
