I grew up in Valencia, New Mexico and graduated from Los Lunas High School. I was fortunate enough to be able to attend the University of New Mexico (UNM) for both my undergraduate education and medical school. My favorite place to be is in the mountains of Northern New Mexico. I love to travel, snowboard, sport rock climb, backpack, mountain bike, bow hunt, fish, and golf. I also enjoy watching horror movies with my wife and playing video games. I enjoy baseball enough to listen to it on the radio.

I am very interested in public health and policy. I have a strong interest in global health and have been involved in medical programs in Bolivia and Nepal. I have an interest in women's health, specifically contraception and obstetrics. I also care greatly about New Mexico education and creating physicians to fulfill the needs of the communities they serve.
