I was born and lived most of my life in Jordan, home of Petra, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. I have been and seen patients from all the surrounding countries, from Iraq to Egypt and from Syria to Yemen. With such diverse patient population, my love of medicine has flourished, but it always kept me seeking more. Therefore, I joined the research team of “Cardiovascular diseases of pregnancy” at the University of Chicago Hospitals; where I became interested in women’s health.
From the countless hours of voluntary work I became a firm believer in the Idiom “prevention is better than cure.” Therefore, Family Medicine was the journey I decided to embark on. I appreciate how family medicine has a strong commitment to primary care, and how it covers a wide variety of other medical specialties. The very exceptional doctor-patient relationship; that seamless blend of trust building, appreciation of patient’s individuality, continuity of care and taking preventive measurements stands out as one of the strongest and most distinguishable aspects of UNM Family Medicine Program.
In addition to the extraordinary friendliness, dedication, and enthusiasm of the entire UNM team, the appealing nature and weather have made UNM my perfect match.
