Safe Hospital

CHRISTUS St. Vincent Hospital and Clinic COVID-19 Measures

How we're keeping you safe at CHRISTUS St. Vincent

At CHRISTUS St. Vincent, our top priority is ensuring we continue to create a safe environment of care for our patients, caregivers and associates. Our hospital has implemented extra precautions to ensure that we are safely meeting the needs of our patients and our community.

Enhanced Screening

We continue to have a universal screening process in place where everyone who enters our hospital (all patients, visitors and associates) are asked a series of questions to screen for recent travel history, current or previous exposure to COVID-19, and symptoms of COVID-19 – including a recent history of fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or running nose, nausea or vomiting and diarrhea. If a person has any of the previous symptoms and/or a temperature of 100° or higher they will not be allowed to enter the facility. Each individual who is successfully screened will be asked to sanitize their hands and required to wear a mask throughout the facility.

Restricted Visitation
Personal Protective Equipment

CHRISTUS St. Vincent requires all associates, patients, and visitors to wear masks at all times within the hospital and clinics. CHRISTUS St. Vincent follows guidelines on masks from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and state orders.

The appropriate use of personal protective equipment — N95 masks, gowns, gloves, face shields, etc. — is carefully controlled depending on procedure, situation or task for all providers and staff throughout the hospital and clinics.

Practicing Social Distancing

CHRISTUS St Vincent continues to encourage social distancing in all areas, where possible. You may see new configurations of our friends and family waiting areas to comply with social distancing. Waiting areas have been modified to ensure social distancing protocols are met and that there is an appropriate amount of space between patients. Plexiglass screens have been installed at service counters to protect patients and staff.

All COVID-19 positive patients are treated in an isolated area away from the general patient population. Specially trained caregivers in our dedicated unit care exclusively for COVID-19 patients under strict safety precautions and with full personal protective gear while caring for COVID patients. They do not enter other patient areas or care for non-COVID-19 patients.

We have enhanced our already stringent guidelines on cleaning and disinfecting our hospital, including deep cleaning and disinfecting all operating rooms, procedure rooms, exam rooms, and patient rooms between each use, each day – all contact surfaces are cleaned with hospital-grade disinfectant after every patient encounter. Waiting areas, reception and administrative workstations are sanitized multiple times a day. Patient rooms are also sanitized using UV light technology.

All patients are tested for COVID-19 prior to admission and/or outpatient procedures in order to ensure the safety of all patients, visitors and associates.

Do Not Delay Care. If you have a Medical Emergency dial 911.
