Application Programming Interface

Application Programming Interface (API) is a technology that allows our electronic health records (EHRs) to communicate with outside applications. Using API, you may request your health information through an app of your choice as long as that app utilizes FHIR industry standards and meets the specifications of our EHRs.

In order to keep your data safe, you must confirm your identity before CHRISTUS releases any of your health information to an outside app. Your identity is confirmed using your Patient Portal username and password. If you are not already enrolled in your CHRISTUS Patient Portal, please refer to our patient portal page.

CHRISTUS is not responsible for the Terms of Service of any app you may select and does not endorse any specific app for use.

FAQs

FAQs What is 3rd Party Patient Health Access?
Third party patient health access provides a patient with the ability to access their information using a 3rd party application on their mobile device, tablet, or internet browser. Applications must meet the Intellicure, Inc. eligibility standards to participate in the program. Intellicure, Inc. determines what chart data to send to the 3rd party application based on the approved data categories, as defined by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC).

For you to enable your chart data to be sent to a 3rd party application not affiliated with your health care facility, you will need to create an account within Dynamic Health IT API Portal.

Why am I asked for my Date of Birth when I create my account?
For us to provide your patient information to a 3rd party application, we will need to validate your registration code with an identifier saved in your health care record. If you are unable to complete registration, please confirm that your Date of Birth is recorded by your Health Care Facility correctly.

Can my health care facility see information in my account?
The providers and staff where you receive care (Health Care Facility) can’t see any information you configure in your Dynamic Health IT API Portal profile. Your email, name, and any applications you select in the API Portal is the only information stored in the application. This isn’t shared with Dynamic Health IT, and therefore isn’t included in your chart.

Is my information safe?
