TYLER, TX – When open enrollment begins November 1, East Texans will once again have the choice to obtain award-winning health care services in-network through the Health Insurance Marketplace. The addition of CHRISTUS Health Plan in North East Texas allows patients seeking individual/family coverage via the Health Insurance Marketplace to obtain in-network care from the distinguished providers and hospitals of CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System.
“Last year was difficult for our community, there were so many families affected by the changes to the in-network providers in the Health Insurance Marketplace. These patients were left with no options to continue their care at CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System,” said John Webb, Vice President of Managed Care, CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System. “We are excited about the launch of CHRISTUS Health Plan, because patients will once again have the choice to seek their health care from CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System through the Health Insurance Marketplace.”
CHRISTUS Health Plan is available to residents of Cherokee, Smith and Wood Counties and is the only individual/family Health Insurance Marketplace provider in-network with CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System. Open enrollment for the Health Insurance Marketplace is November 1, 2016 through January 31, 2017. The last date to enroll for coverage that starts January 1, 2017 is December 15, 2016.
“We are incredibly excited to be able to offer award-winning medical care to patients in Northeast Texas who obtain their family’s insurance coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace,” said Lindsey Bradley, FACHE, Chief Executive Officer for CHRISTUS Northeast Texas and Senior Vice President of Group Operations for CHRISTUS Health. “Expanding access to high-quality, patient-focused medical care is a foundational element of CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System, and today’s announcement is a significant step forward along that path.”
“Over the past year, patients throughout East Texas have made their voices heard,” said Steven Keuer, M.D., Chief Medical Officer for CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System and President of CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic. “They want access to the medical care and services on the leading edge of technology and best practices. They want to work together with distinguished health care providers to manage their health. They want to build a medical home with a team of physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses and medical staff that they trust and value. And they want to do that at CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System. We are certainly pleased that these patients once again have that option, and I know I speak for all of my colleagues when I say that we are thrilled to continue those relationships.”
“Just in 2016, CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System has been recognized as a part of the Truven 100 Top Hospitals, has been given the highest possible safety ratings from LeapFrog, has been named one of the nation’s Most Wired organization and has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hospitals – to name just a few of the recognitions earned by the incredible teams across this organization,” said Webb. “Everyone throughout the System is deeply passionate about providing that level of care to the people of East Texas.”
