CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic Offers Huggable Keepsake to New Families August 22, 2018

Tyler, Texas – CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic OB-GYN in Tyler is offering expecting parents an incredible new way to bond with their children through a huggable, furry keepsake: teddy bears with the heartbeats of the children they will soon be meeting!

The teddy bears will be presented, free of charge, to patients who are receiving their prenatal care with CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic physicians and advanced practice providers at CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic OB-GYN in Tyler. Parents will receive one bear for each child (so two for twins!) at the standard scheduled 18-week sonogram.

“This is really a wonderful opportunity for us to help parents connect with their children before they are born,” said Jennifer Dooley, Clinic Manager at CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic OB-GYN.

Each 12” plush bear comes with a custom CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances ribbon, and the recording device is included. The bears record about 10 seconds of audio in length, and the recording device is secured inside so it can’t be easily removed. When the button is activated by pushing on the bear’s belly, the recording is played.

Motherhood is a special time, and CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic is excited to be able to offer parents the chance to document the growth of their child with a keepsake that is unique to their family.

“As any mother can tell you, pregnancy and prenatal care is wonderful. But it can also be stressful. We do our very best to ensure each patient receives individualized, personal medical care in an environment that is specialized for them. Along the way, there are milestones that parents remember, like the first images and heartbeat. When parents hear their child’s heartbeat for the first time, it is a truly magical moment,” said Kim Ontiveros, RN, Lead Nurse at CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic OB-GYN. “Being able to capture that moment in time is a gift we are so excited to give.”
