Tyler, Texas – The most effective health care organizations unite the human touch with groundbreaking technology to offer care that is compassionate and cutting-edge. Each year, these organizations are recognized through the Healthcare’s Most Wired survey, and CHRISTUS Health and CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System have been named 2019 Most Wired.
The purpose of this award is to recognize positive impact on the health and care of communities through the best use of information technology. This year marks the fourth time CHRISTUS Health’s facilities have been recognized by CHIME’s Most Wired evaluation.
“At CHRISTUS Health, we are proud of the work we do to connect with our patients, and we are committed to continually improving our systems and services,” said George Conklin, senior vice president and chief information officer, CHRISTUS Health. “Increasing evidence shows that we can improve the quality of care and outcomes for our communities and support our mission of extending the healing ministry of Jesus Christ.”
In today’s changing health care environment, technology plays an ever-increasing role in supporting high-quality patient care practices. It is imperative that health care organizations establish highly interoperable systems to support population health management and other non-traditional care delivery models to meet the diverse needs of the communities they serve.
“The health care industry is evolving at lightning speed, with many exciting innovations that can truly transform how we deliver care,” said CHIME President and CEO Russ Branzell. “Most Wired gives us a way to gauge where we are, identify best practices that can elevate care everywhere and recognize those leaders whose pursuit of excellence is driving change in our in our industry. We are honored to have so many health care organizations from around the world participate in this year’s program and show that they, like CHIME, are committed to nothing less than excellence.”
In addition to overall recognition earned by CHRISTUS Health as a Most Wired Participant, we had two areas that earned special designation:
- CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances hospitals earned a Special Recognition certification
- CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic earned a Quality Award certification in the Ambulatory category
There are eight individual areas evaluated to judge how a facility ranks in the Healthcare’s Most Wired matrix. The areas are infrastructure, security, business/disaster recovery, administrative/supply chain, analytics/data management, interoperability/pop health, patient engagement, and clinical quality/safety.
“CHRISTUS Health has long been at the forefront of health information technology, and we continue to work diligently to maintain our high standards of quality and service,” said Becky Western, Director of IM Applications at CHRISTUS Health in Northeast Texas.
“From information security to our electronic health record and the streamlined use of information, the entire team at CHRISTUS Health is dedicated to enhancing and developing our health information technology services, and we are very proud to be named as one of the 2019 Most Wired organizations,” said Conklin.
