September 3, 2020
Canton, Texas – After a year that saw the opening of a new Emergency Care Center and an expansion of its clinic facilities, CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances HealthPark - Canton is being recognized for community development by the Canton Texas Chamber of Commerce during an AM Connection event at the HealthPark on September 3.
Despite being unable to gather for the 2020 Community Awards Gala, the Chamber is presenting this year’s awards to honorees in person. The Canton Economic Development Corporation's (EDC) Economic Impact Award recognizes a local business for outstanding contributions to Canton's economy and community. The recipient is selected by the Canton EDC board of directors.
“There are usually about 12 honorees recognized with awards at our annual gala, each one given by a different community organization recognizing leaders for their various contributions to the community during the past year,” explained Canton Economic Development Corporation Director Julie Seymore. “The CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances HealthPark’s new emergency care center and clinic expansion are a real game-changer for this community.”
The new Emergency Care Center, which opened on July 2, encompasses 7,650 square feet and serves as a full-scale emergency department onsite at the HealthPark. It features six exam rooms, one trauma room, a full-service imaging center including advanced imaging services and a laboratory for easier access to test results. The medical staff consists of certified Emergency Medicine physicians and nurses, who will join the specialty providers in cardiac, orthopedics, sleep and oncology that already see patients the HealthPark. The newly expanded CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic facility brings an additional 3,950 square feet, which will provide a total of 40 exam/procedure rooms and additional office space for the new providers and their staff. With the expanded space also comes additional parking to accommodate the increased volume of patients the clinic and ER will see.
“Not only has [the HealthPark expansion] made a significant impact with the creation of quality jobs and capital investment, it also draws people into the community who will visit our gas stations, restaurants, shops and more,” said Seymore. “Most of all, CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances’ expansion adds critical medical services that make our community more attractive to businesses considering an expansion or relocation – especially manufacturers. It has been a huge win for Canton and Van Zandt County citizens too. For that, we are honored to recognize CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances HealthPark - Canton with our Economic Impact Award.”
