Dr. Booker received his medical degree from the University of South Florida in Tampa. He completed his residency from the University of South Florida. During this time he was named Outstanding Surgical Resident.
Dr. Booker has practiced general surgery in Texarkana since 2003. After his undergraduate education at Duke University, he completed medical school and his surgical residency at the University of South Florida. He taught one year at USF and then practiced near Tampa for 13 years. Dr. Booker's near 30 year of experience in general surgery enable him to provide compassionate and quality care in all areas of general surgery. Dr. Booker has a special interest in breast surgery and enjoys helping women through the difficult times that arise when they fear that they may face or have a diagnosis of breast cancer. He is a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons.
Dr. Booker has a strong interest in the development of the Arkansas Trauma System. He serves as the Trauma Medical Director at CHRISTUS St. Michael. Chairman of the Southwest Arkansas Regional Advisory Council and Chairman of the Arkansas Trauma Center Designation Committee. He also serves as a medical consultant to the Arkansas Department of Health. Dr. Booker serves as a board member of the ArkLaTex PHO.
Dr. Booker enjoys duck hunting. He and his wife enjoy distance running. He has a son and a daughter both of whom are now in college.
