Family and Visitor Policy
What we are doing to keep you and your family safe
These precautions apply to The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio, Goldsbury Center for Children and Families, KidSTOP outpatient testing, the Emergency Center at Westover Hills, all multispecialty and pediatric primary care locations.
MASKS ARE REQUIRED (AGE 5 AND OLDER)
Due to the continued risk presented by COVID-19 in our community, patients and their adult caregivers will be required to wear a mask while in the hospital or in an outpatient clinic including KidSTOP which is located inside the hospital. Please bring your own mask or face cover (such as a bandana).
LIMITED VISITORS
Only one adult caregiver will be allowed to accompany a patient. No siblings or additional family members will be allowed in our facilities.
SCREENING PROCEDURE
Visitors will undergo a temperature screening and must answer the current COVID-19 risk factor questionnaire based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Screening Questions:
Have you or anyone in your household been contacted by the CDC, your local health department, and/or placed under self-quarantine for COVID-19 for any reason?
Have you traveled outside of the United States in the last 14 days?
Have you traveled by cruise ship in the last 14 days?
Do you have any of the following symptoms:
- Fever
- Cough
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Chills or repeated shaking with chills
- Muscle pain
- Headache
- Sore throat
- New loss of taste or smell
- Runny nose
- GI symptoms (diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and/or pain)?
In the last 14 days, have you been in contact with someone who has had a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19, someone who is under investigation for having COVID-19, or someone who is ill with a respiratory illness?

ATM
A 24-hour Automatic Teller Machine is located on the first floor near the Santa Rosa Chapel.

Chapel
Our hospital chapel is located in the first floor Main Lobby near the Information Desk. The Chapel is open 24 hours a day for prayer and meditation. Learn more about our Spiritual Care.

Chaplains
If you would like to speak with a our chaplain, please call 210-704-2181 or ask your nurse for assistance. Children’s Church is held Wednesdays at 3:00 p.m.

You must provide your own detergent, which can be purchased in the Gift Shop

Parking
The entrance to the Visitors Parking Lot is located at 333 North Santa Rosa between Martin and Houston Streets. Patients and guests can be picked up and dropped off in the 300 block on San Saba Street. Valet parking is available for $8 at this entrance.
Emergency Department patients can be brought in through the North Santa Rosa Street entrance.

Security
Our Security Department is available to provide escorts to the hospital parking areas at any time. If you need this service or require additional information regarding hospital parking, please call Security at 210-704-2393.

If you are sending mail, there is a mailbox in front of the Goldsbury Center for Children and Families across from the Emergency Department.

Visitors
Our number one priority is for the safety of our patients and their families who we are privileged to care for. As the COVID-19 virus continues to threaten our nation and community, we are taking every precaution to ensure the safety of our patients. We have implemented new patient visitation guidelines and are now screening all visitors who enter our hospitals.
Updated Visitors Guideines (beginning Monday, April 6)
Beginning Monday, April 6, patients and their adult caregivers will be required to wear a mask while in the hospital or in the outpatient clinics. Please bring your own mask or face cover (such as a bandanna). We are conserving hospital masks for our health care workers. Hospitalized patients do not have to wear a mask while in their rooms.
Updated Visitor Guidelines (beginning Saturday, March 21 at 6am):
Applies to The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio, Goldsbury Center for Children and Families and The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio Emergency Centers in Westover Hills and Stone Oak, Multispecialty Clinics and Pediatric Primary Care locations.
Only one (1) adult caregiver will be allowed to accompany a patient.
No siblings or additional family members will be allowed on campus.

- Temperature will be taken by screener

Vending Machines
For snacks and drinks any time, vending machines are located on the second floor behind the surgery registration desks. Two additional machines are located in the Emergency Department waiting room on the first floor. Vending machines accept cash or credit cards.

Java City
Located on the first floor between the Child Life Center and the Café, Java City offers specialty coffee blends and various drink options. Java City also has hot and cold breakfast, lunch, dinner, pastries, and snack options to-go.

7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Cafe
Breakfast and lunch options are served daily in our Café. You will find a wide selection of sandwiches, salads, and drinks. A wider selection of food choices including freshly baked pizzas are available.
Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
