CHRISTUS Health celebrates opening of new sleep lab with blessing ceremony

CHRISTUS Health has opened a new, state-of-the-art sleep lab, designed to support early detection and treatment of sleep-related conditions, highlighted by a blessing ceremony last week.

Located inside CHRISTUS Highland Medical Center, the clinic offers in-lab sleep studies and at-home sleep testing for eligible patients throughout North Louisiana.

“This new sleep lab is a meaningful step forward in helping our community get the rest they need to live healthier lives,” said Dr. Suman Sinha, chief medical officer with CHRISTUS Shreveport-Bossier Health System. “Sleep is foundational to physical and mental health, and we’re proud to offer advanced testing and compassionate care close to home.”

Testing is available for conditions including:

• Sleep apnea
• Restless leg syndrome
• REM behavior disorder
• Narcolepsy
• Parasomnias

An estimated 50-70 million people in the country experience some level of sleep disorder, according to the National Sleep Foundation.
