CHRISTUS Southeast Texas – Jasper Memorial has been recognized nationally for providing high-quality care.

The hospital was recently named a top performer in the 2025 Bernard A. Birnbaum, MD, Quality Leadership Study by Vizient Inc.

“This is a remarkable achievement for our rural hospital,” said Cheri Willard, president and chief nursing officer of CHRISTUS Southeast Texas – Jasper Memorial. “This award would not be possible without our incredible and dedicated Associates. Receiving this recognition reflects our commitment to providing the best patient care to our community.”

CHRISTUS Southeast Texas – Jasper Memorial was awarded in the small community hospital cohort. Cohorts were based on patient volume metrics. There were four cohorts: comprehensive academic medical centers, large specialized complex care medical centers, complex care medical centers and community hospitals.

The distinguished award signifies the hospital excelled in six critical domains of patient care: safety, mortality, effectiveness, efficiency, patient-centeredness and equity. Vizient is a health care performance company with several focuses, including using data to help health systems improve patient safety, quality and overall health.

“I am incredibly proud of our team,” Willard said. “We all strive to ensure our patients are cared for with compassion. Together, we fulfill our mission of extending the healing ministry of Jesus Christ.”
