Dr. Porter received his bachelor's degree in biochemistry from the University of Wisconsin — Madison. He then attended medical school at Ohio State College of Medicine. He completed residency training at University of Hawaii and continued on to a fellowship at John Hopkins Hospital.
Special interests include adrenal disorders, diabetes, insulin resistance, pediatric endocrinology, and thyroid disorders.

Dr. Potter and the entire staff are the best! Not to be negative, there is one aspect of the visit to Santa Rosa Hospital Downtown that is a bit of a drawback, besides the construction: the parking space charge was a bit high. But, overall, we were treated with kindness. Gracias
