Meet Ahsan Raza, MD
Ahsan Raza, MD, FACS, FASCRS, is a board-certified colon and rectal surgeon with CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic in Alexandria, Louisiana. He will work in both clinic and hospital environments, including active privileges at CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Hospital. Dr. Raza offers extensive training and expertise in advanced colorectal and general surgery, along with a compassionate, relationship-focused approach to patient care.
Dr. Raza has considerable experience diagnosing and treating a wide range of gastrointestinal, anorectal, and abdominal conditions. His clinical interests include colon and rectal cancer, diverticular disease, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), anorectal disorders, hernias, and gallbladder disease — areas where he is dedicated to providing high-quality, evidence-based care to the Alexandria community.
When discussing his care philosophy, Dr. Raza stated that he “leads with empathy and respect,” adding that he treats every patient as if they were a member of his own family. “That helps me make the best decisions for them and treat them with kindness,” he explains. Outside of medicine, Dr. Raza enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, and traveling. He has a passion for exploring new cuisines and discovering unique coffee varieties from around the world. These interests showcase his curiosity, cultural appreciation, and joy in making connections wherever he goes.
