Meet Andrew Pike, MD

Andrew N. Pike, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and shoulder reconstruction with CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic in Alamogordo, New Mexico. Dr. Pike is double board-certified in orthopedic surgery and orthopedic sports medicine.  He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Arthroscopy Association of North America and also a longtime member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine.

Dr. Pike obtained his medical doctorate at Georgetown University and completed Orthopedic Surgery Residency training at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago. He also received additional specialty training in orthopedic sports medicine at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard University. Now a retired Colonel, he served many years on both active and reserve status in the U.S. Air Force providing orthopedic care for our nation’s military members while serving in multiple overseas and deployed locations.

He is experienced in managing complex knee injuries, including ligament, meniscal, and cartilage damage with both arthroscopic and open techniques.  Dr. Pike has published articles in major orthopedic journals on these topics, contributing to advancements in the field.  Additionally, he has extensive experience in arthroscopic and open shoulder reconstruction, treating recurrent dislocations, rotator cuff tears, and arthritic conditions. For shoulder arthroplasty, Dr. Pike utilizes cutting edge computer modeling techniques to optimize the procedure for each individual patient.  

Dr. Pike is passionate about delivering expert, patient-centered care and seeks to tailor his treatment strategies, both operative and non-operative, based on individual needs and goals.  He has extensive experience managing sports related injuries for athletes of all levels of participation and provides medical coverage for the Alamogordo High School athletic programs as team physician.  He values clear communication and prioritizes educating and empowering his patients about their conditions and treatment decisions, guiding them through every step of their recovery journey.

Outside of work, he enjoys participating in the multitude of outdoor activities available in New Mexico with his wife and four children and is an active member of his local church.
