Meet Ashley Cooley, MD

Dr. Ashley Cooley is a central Texas native and feels honored to serve the children of San Antonio and surrounding communities. Dr. Cooley obtained her bachelors degree from the University of Texas in 2005. She completed medical school and pediatric residency training at the University of Texas Health Science Center-San Antonio. She continued pursuing her dream of becoming a pediatric cardiologist by completing her cardiology fellowship at the University of Florida in Gainesville. 

Dr. Cooley has a passion for serving all children and families and is committed to helping them navigate the world of congenital heart disease. She is a strong advocate for her patients and collaborates with families to reach goals of care and optimize quality of life.

Her special areas of interest include cardiac genetics, imaging and congenital cardiac defects. She has participated in research on newborn screening for cardiac defects and congenital coronary anomalies. Dr. Cooley also enjoys teaching and is committed to helping train future generations of physicians. 

In her spare time, Dr. Cooley enjoys spending time with her husband who is an assistant principal at Boerne ISD. The couple has a son who enjoys football, baseball and basketball and a daughter who loves soccer, gymnastics and art.
